So, as I'm embarking on my new super-awesome whatever-it-is-program, I check out the optparse section (page 765), then have a few follow up questions. I roll over to the #python (freenode IRC channel) and begin interrogating the peeps. They explain that optparse has been (generally) abandoned for argparse; there's a somewhat terse tutorial as well.

Apparently now argparse is part of the Python Standard Library.

Is it possible to do a chapter on argparse?

As I cannot support this position, I've included this EuroPython lecture: Mark Smith - Writing Awesome Command-Line Programs in Python.

Super-cool book by the way,

TT
