Hi, I've read through this forum and I'm confused.

Does this book require Windows 8? It seems like the book make you build Windows 8 apps, but what happens if I try the exercises on Windows 7?

Also, I've got VS 2013 -- I've heard there are lots of issues with it because the book was written with VS 2012.

So, I've got Win7 + VS 2013, can I still use the book?

Yes, you can definitely use our book with Win7 + 2013. You'll need to download the WPF PDF from the book's website (http://headfirstlabs.com/hfcsharp). It's got a replacement for Chapter 1 and five replacement pages in Chapter 2 for building projects in WPF, a technology that's compatible with Windows 7. After that, you don't need the PDF again for the next few hundred pages, and can use the book unaltered.

Yes, that's it. I worked really hard to make sure you could use the book with Win7 and VS2013, with as few interruptions and as little jumping around between the PDF and book as possible. I hope you like it! :)
