Hi, just got my 2nd edition and am using Visual 2013.
When working on the example, the book asks to create a "Local Database" that is a SQL Server Compact Edition.

I only have a choice for a Service-Based Database. I tried to use that choice, but some things are slightly different, some choices not there, and then if I want to save it asks me for a path, when I thought the whole point of a local db is for it to be part of the executable...

Sorry for the noobish question... But it is frustrating to get stuck at the very beginning, and the books really looks great with its hand on approach.

I'm using 2nd edition with VS2010 and had no issues with this part.

Maybe Andrew or someone else could confirm this dependency?

Yeah, Microsoft significantly changed the toolset since we wrote that chapter -- which makes sense, since we wrote it over half a decade ago. And you're right, it should work just fine in VS2010. Luckily, the project isn't needed for the rest of the book -- we only come back to it in the last few pages of the last chapter.

Thanks for the help.
I ended up using again the Service Based Database and it worked this time around... Don't know what I did differently...
