Good day folks,
I am a newbie trying to learn Drupal 7 using this book.
On page 149 asks me to install the lesson profile which is provided in the downloadable source code.

I can see profiles in the directory.
\drupal-7\profiles\ch04_media

But I see no step by step instructions on how to do this. Steps written on page xix are far too incomplete.
A step by step instruction on how to set this up would help. Please share what you know.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
One of the authors answered this with the following:

Well, they need a combination of just installing Drupal itself (Appendix A)
and the instructions in the Preface. There is a free video on Drupalize.Me
that actually walks through the process though, and gives more detailed
instructions: http://drupalize.me/...pal-source-code

Thanks for the info.

The following method worked for me:

I would say the DAMP (acronym for drupal installer from acquia drupal, apache, mysql and php) is much more reliable than MAMP (for Macs) and WAMP (for windows).

DAMP installs all the essential environments for drupal.

To follow along this Oreilly book:

1. Install DAMP.
2. In the DAMP control panel>more>sites>import>browse to the book code base Drupal 7 directory. It will create a database and populate it for you.
3. Point browser to sitename.localhost\install.php > then select the lesson profile of your choice.'

Your drupal book lesson is ready .

Interested to know any other easier set up methods.
