In Chapter 1 of second edition of Head First C#, Visual Studio 2010 is used to create a SQL database. The vast majority of readers have no trouble following the instructions, and the project goes smoothly. But a small number of readers run into problems, typically caused by the way their computers are configured (eg. conflicting versions of the software, or lack of permissions). Here are a few posts from readers who were able to fix the problem:
If you still have trouble, you can move onto Chapter 2 -- you will not need to return to the project from Chapter 1 until the last few pages of the book.
Note that this problem only affects older editions of Head First C# from 2012 or earlier. The current edition does not have this problem.
