I have worked through 11 and am at the part where it's converting Starbuzz to tables. It says to open up "chapter 11/tabledisplay." There is NO SUCH directory, and as much as I've gone back to the original files, I cannot find any folder named "tabledisplay." I'm on page 516, and STUCK. I have tried going to the site and downloading "code" and "solutions" for Chapters 10, 11, and 12. I also tried to view the examples online, both BEFORE and AFTER.

Additionally, the "layout and positioning" in the book is Chapter 11. The examples on the download page for Chapter 11 don't mention Starbuzz at all...only Head First Lounge. When I download the files for Chapter 11, they are all for the Lounge, and NOT Starbuzz. However, clearly, in Chapter 11...it's all about STARBUZZ. I think this is a mistake.

BEFORE YOU REPLY WITH THE STANDARD "USE THE FILES FROM CHAPTER 11" RESPONSE, PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST. It seems when anyone has problems with these two chapters, your response is to go back to the previous chapter's files. However, people are obviously having issues with this...I've written additional details. There's a bigger problem.

From the download page: Chapter 12: Starbuzz Coffee, No Layout | Float Layout | Absolute Positioned Layout | Three-column Layout. These files are found in Chapter 11, not 12.

I've also had problems with the files that I downloaded from the site...when I downloaded the "complete" set, there is NOT a folder for each chapter. Here is a listing, EXACTLY as they downloaded:

chapter 1
HFHTML_ch05
HFHTML_ch07
HFHTML_ch12
HFHTML_ch14
journal
journal 2
journal 3
lounge
lounge 2
lounge 3
lounge 4
lounge 5
starbuzz

Suggestions...you guys need to clearly label the chapters. It seems like SOME of the chapters are named consistently, and the .zip files are named appropriately, but when you unzip them you end up with the rest of them with haphazard naming. Can you please repost these files in an organized fashion?

Also, when I go back to the page, and download the HFHTML_ch11.zip file, and it expands, it expands to a file named "lounge" and the solution opens to "lounge work." Some of the others open to a folder with the actual name of the zip file...i.e. "HFHTML_ch07" comes from zip file "HFHTML_ch07.zip." Can you PLEASE make all of these consistent?

This chapter is extremely well written, except for the fact that it's impossible to find the right files!

Any help appreciated. I'm about to tear my hair out over this chapter.

I think it would be appropriate that you guys CAREFULLY REVIEW 11 and post corrections, and corrected files. Please post a REVISION. I think this is a problem chapter.

This is my third book in a week on CSS, and this is explaining it better than the other two. We just need the correct files...and well-organized files...to make this happen.

Many thanks.

Possible workaround?

I re-downloaded Chapter 12's files, then found a "starbuzz" directory, and used the index.html file from that one, and got it to work.

Please check into this...lots of confusion for newbies!

Another user posted in another thread that there is a link for the files that ends in hfhtmlcss.zip. This is NOT what's available on the download page. The file on the download page ends in "HFHTML_code.zip," and contains none of the files.

That is very odd, because I have never created folders for the book with those names.
Can you please provide the link where you downloaded this zip file?

Thank you.

The most up to date code for the book is in github here:

https://github.com/b...Head-First-HTML

It would be really helpful if you can post where you are downloading the files from so I can be sure to keep them up to date.

Thanks!

I am downloading the documents from here:

http://www.headfirst...m/books/hfhtml/

I couldn't find where the files were mentioned in the book, so I googled and got this link. I skimmed over the HTML section, because I only needed the CSS part of the book. But I went back through the entire book looking for where I could find files, and couldn't find mention of it.

I downloaded from this section on the page...it says "download all the example files."

Book code and downloads

Download the example files (all .zip files):
• All of the files in the book
• All of our solutions

A suggestion...perhaps from the page (http://www.headfirst...m/books/hfhtml/) you should put the link you mentioned above (the github one).

Thanks!

Oh, you'll want to download the code for the 2nd edition here:

http://wickedlysmart.com/hfhtmlcss/

(I'm assuming you have the second edition?)

I no longer have access to update the code on Head First labs at all, so I can't fix it if the code is wrong there.

Cool...

I don't know what edition I have, but I just bought it from Amazon.

Many thanks!
