I've just started reading the book and bumped into this quote on page 24, taken (according to the text) from a 1998 review of JavaScript: “JavaScript is at best a half-baked, wimpy scripting language.”
I have tried to locate the origin of the quote but haven't been able so far. There doesn't seem to be a reference to it in the book either. Is anybody able to, please, provide a proper reference? I'd like to read the whole piece.
And now for something completely different... Please, let the responsible parties know that at least one two-page-spread-out (pages 22 and 23) is unreadable in mobile devices and even on the PC screen. Weird, since other instances of two-page montages in other Head First books were at least readable on any of my Kindle/Kindle for iPad/Kindle for PC. Hopefully it is only one exception.
Cheers and kuddos for such a great series of learning books! I have enjoyed each and everyone I've read
