Did anyone else have trouble getting anything to work in Chapter 9?

So far, I'm having trouble with everything I've tried....font styles and now trying to change the background color to the "guarantee". Have copied & pasted from the download css file too.

I'm using IE 9...also trying to run it on Fire Fox and Chrome....none of them are working.

Wrote my own code first....when that didn't work (and I couldn't identify any errors), I copied from the download files.

Getting very frustrated. Had font-style problems in the last chapter too, but the rest of the css code worked for me. Now, I'm just stopped.

Will appreciate suggestions.

Debbie,
You'll have to post your html and css files for me to look at so i can help track this down.

Beth...

Have you had a chance to look at the code? I had my computer checked this morning....IE 9 is on there....

They're wanting me to just stop trying to learn it and let them do my web site....If I can't figure out what's going wrong, I'm going to have to go that route. I have to get to the point that I can get something out there for my business pretty soon.

I really wanted to try to do my own.

Appreciate your help with this code issue.

Debbie

Hi Debbie,
Your code is working for me; I see the font style applied, as well as the color.

Are you sure that your files are saved in the right places? This is definitely not a browser issue; all browsers will be able to render this page, including IE9. The only thing that makes sense is that the file is not where the browser expects it to be.

The lounge.css file must be in the same folder as the HTML.

If you are willing to try another browser, like Chrome, then I'd suggest doing this:
Install Chrome, and load the HTML page.
Go to View > Developer > JavaScript Console
See if there are any error messages displayed in the console. If there are, please post them here.

Thanks, hope this helps,

Elisabeth

Beth....

That might be it! I think my css file and html files are separate. I'll look at that.

I feel good that the code is good....THAT'S a positive from all this.

Will check my file location

Again....

Thank you.,

Oh....I had been trying it in Chrome....as well as Fire Fox and IE. The fact that it doesn't work (for me) in any of them....and it does work for you....makes me think that you've offered the answer to my problem. Here's hoping!

Moved the css file into the lounge.html folder, but I'm getting the following error message.....

All I did was a drag and drop folder move....is this what I did wrong?
