Hi, I have a few question regarding my new project.

Inside the application window there will be a few custom controls, one of which will look and behave much like the Facebook chat list. Another control will be a box which displays information and show updates in real-time - comparable to Windows´ live tiles.

So is WinForms or WPF the best choice considering what I am planning to code? How does runtime speed, ease of maintenance, etc compare between the two?

Thanks :)

If you know nothing about WinForm I would start there - The properties and data binding is a little simpler to start.
WPF acts similar to HTML in terms of what control you have on container items, parents/childs.
