Ch 9 Ado Errors, Ch 10 Linq Errors

I am using windows xp pro. Everything worked well until CH9 . I am running sqlexpress 2005 and continue get error messages trying to connect to the database. I get the following error message:

Cannot open database "AdventureWorksLT" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user....

I have tried all of pinal dave's suggestions and also requested help on msdn to no avail. I put in user name password combinations from connectionstrings.com but they aren't working for me either.

So I went on to Ch 10. I downloaded the SimpleLet.aspx and SimpleLet.aspx.cs code from the project and when I tried to run it it gave me a list of the main directory instead of the expected output.
