Why Coax Is In The Book

Ryan and I decided early on to include coax in the book. It really is not used for Ethernet networks anymore, but it may lurk out there in dark places. But, coax is still a viable cable type. Uh, what is your cable TV running over? How about coax in radio?

We wanted to make sure the reader knows that there is history to cable and that there is big world of cable types out there.

Plus, coax helped us make some points about basic electricity...

Actually, I think that's a damn good idea. Too many people see coax wiring and simply want to replace it with, say, twisted pair. An unnecessary expense, as far as I'm concerned.
