Hi folks.
I looove my LS 10.

When I uploaded some files to my Mac about 10 months ago, something went skewiff and Im a bit hazy on the details now of exactly what went wrong but the upshot was that the LS10 wasnt ejected properly, and I lost 2 files. blink.gif

Now when I say lost, I mean the files are still there and showing in the Finder, with their relevant Filesizes. They play as normal but just dont produce any sound.

I see also in the Folders in the Finder, there are .dat files and one of them is called recovery.dat. I'd really appreciate it if anyone knows or can advise me on how to get these files back if its possible.

Thanks
Jo

Can "digital media recovery" recover corrupted files, ....as I said, these 2 files are already there and play, but theres no waveform showing if you put them in an audio program such as Audacity.. Theyre actually voice recorded MP3 files that are quite lengthy. Over an hour.

Relax, data recovery is very simple and almost anyone can do it. Just because you deleted (even permanently deleted) something doesn't mean it's gone
for good! I build and repair PCs from home and I'm always getting clients who accidently deleted their files....happens all the time. But 9/10 of the time I'm able to restore everything for them. Here i provide two solutions for you.

Solution 1: Recover Deleted Files for Free
Recuva will find any kind of file at all, and has special modes for music, documents, videos, and emails, besides the standard photo recovery. The main drawback with Recuva is with disks that are completely corrupted. If Windows does not recognize the disk, Recuva cannot scan it.

Solution 2: Choose a professional and easy-to-use files recovery tool.
Personally I do not believe in free software as it will end up messing my computer with virus and spywares. So what I look for is cheap and good software called Tenorshare Data Recovery. For recovery software, I bought one before, cost me little but working very well.
Take a look if you do not mind pay little to get back your files- http://www.any-data-...overyformac.htm
