Google Analytics - Not Free?
Posted 15 July 2011 - 04:22 AM
Google has tied or forced my Google Accounts for a particular domain into their Google Aps for Business. I think this is because I have my own domain, but I set the MDS records to use Gmail as a front for my email.
QUESTION ONE) Is this true for ALL Google Accounts. I mean if somebody just has a plain old Google Email, are they now FORCED to go through the Google Aps for Business login?
I have NOT signed up for their "Free Trial" - why is so clear what has been free for so long will NO LONGER be free someday - EVEN WHEN they make millions upon millions from advertising - Arrrrgggghhh
QUESTION TWO) I want to use Google Analytics. It's "SUPPOSED" to be free, right? Well no - Since I haven't signed up for the "Free" Trial of Google Aps for Business (even though I am forced to use them for my basic account services), I can not add this service or add ths App to my Google Accounts - that's my question - is Google Analytics now ONLY available to those who have signed up for the "FREE" Trial of Google Aps for Business?

As far as I know Google Analytics is free to a certain point, where really you have to pay for certain services and more extensive information
I think Google will not force people to pay as their business model is to provide free services and then make money from channels related to it.
However, if they decide to change their business model then I wouldn't be surprise to see free services popping here and there.

Let me tell one thing that only the basic tracking code and analytics of up to 5 million page view per month is free. You can have a glimpse here for more info http://www.google.co...ytics/tos.html. You need to have Google Adword account to get free access of Google analytics in the case your website generates over 5 million page views per month.

Google Analytics makes it easy for anyone managing a site to track and analyze their business's data. It is a free tool that can answer a variety of questions for a wide range of users. From keyword ranking to visitor's flow to insights, you can get each and every information from analytics.

I think this situation is not possible to force someone to go for paid version of Google Apps because of using Google Analytics. Google Analytics is free because it's purpose is strongly related to Google Adwords which is important revenue stream for Google. You need to give some more details about your problems.

Google Analytics is still free. But there is a product called Premium that is a paid for tool with additional reporting, better reporting and support. As I post it is $150 per year.
Anything useful I say, someone said it to me first.
