Work Left = number of tasks ?

I suppose in the Burn Down diagram you've got on the y-as Work Left that this is the number of tasks. Perhaps a dummy question (but there are no dummy questions !).

Work left = tasks left is a pretty rough estimate. Even if you've broken your tasks down to the most concise list of tasks you never can tell until you dig in there that x task might only take 10 minutes or an hour and that task y might take a little more research and several hours of testing to implement a correct solution that fits your programs requirements.

It's a bit like trying to guess where you are between towns on a roadmap without any mile markers, gps, or odometer.
