Homepage.php Q#3

On page 126, where exactly goes homepage.php ?
I have tried diferent directories but it does not appear in the Drop down template menu, I only got Default Template, and One column, No side bar.

I have to re-activate the template to get to find the Template (I also copied the homepage into every directory)!

Does rthe editors have an answer for that? I have the same problem!

Go to Pages, mouseover your Index page, select Quick Edit, and set Template to homepage. Then, in Appearance --> Editor, select Main Index Template (index.php) and edit that to the file in the book. It took a lot of poking around to find this; I'm going to be charitable and assume that WordPress has changed its versions significantly since the book came out. However, nothing excuses the moderators of this forum from not replying to these questions.
