I purchased the arduino with the Projbox from oreilly for this course.

All went well with installing processing and arduino software on my windows 7 machine.
i also uploaded the arduino demo 'Blink' to flash the LED successfully.

but when i tried to upload the standardfirmata to the arduino, i get this error msg:

Binary sketch size: 8250 bytes (of a 30720 byte maximum)

avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x1a00
0x0f != 0xff
avrdude: verification error; content mismatch

then when i try the next step with the processing to detect the input by touching the pins, nothing happens.

any suggestions appreciated. -thx!!

Hard to say why it had a "byte mismatch" but I'd check your USB connection and make sure you have the correct serial device selected from the Arduino > Tools > Serial Port menu.

Another possible way to solve this is to search http://arduino.cc with that error message to see if anyone else has run into the problem and perhaps found a fix.

You want your homework done for you when you weren't paying the slightest bit of attention in class and didn't read a word of your textbook? This is so elementary it's ridiculous.
