I am writing a book and would like to enclose a CR-ROM or DVD with each copy that is published. The content of the book would be read and captured on the electronic format.
Since I have very limited experience with using relatively simple digital audio recording technologies I am posting an inquiry on this forum in the hope that someone can set me straight right from the onset of this proposed audio recording project.
So, here's my quetion: Is there any technology available on the retail market that can create a single seamless no-edit/edit-free file from several audio recording sessions? In other words, the ideal technology would be user-friendly PC-compatible hardware or software and allow me to start an audio recording session, pause it when I get tired or bored with recording, and then allow me to resume without having to create two audio files (i.e., one for each session) and then having to edit/combine however many files I would create through the recodring process.
Bottom line: I'm looking for some digital audio technology that will allow me to start, pause, start, pause, etc. and give me one large file when I'm done. Does this technology exist?
