We're thrilled to have more books in the pipeline than ever before. Which one are you most excited about?

I voted tor "Head First Ruby on Rails" but on reflection, should have said "Head First Statistics". As long as D Edwards Deming's work features somewhere... it's statistics that drove the Japanese Motorcycle, Car and Electronics sectors to worldwide success.

What would be the difference between HF Ajax and HR Ajax?

Hey Otto,

While Head Rush Ajax was meant to give a quick entry into Ajax, the Head First title is going to be a deeper and more detailed (not to mention longer!) exploration of the technology. Stay tuned for more info!

a head first c would sound redundant, but would prove to be a red carpet welcome for newbies into programming!

I don't know if the smile.gif at the end of your comment is because your statement was a joke, or if it's because you really like Functional Programming.

If it was a joke ... ignore the rest of my post ...

If you were serious ...

Somehow I don't think this kind of book would generate very much revenue, which would in turn preclude it from ever being written. Which is too bad, since I believe that a good understanding of Functional Programming makes for a better software engineer.

If they chose to write a book like this ... which language would they choose? Scheme, ML, Haskell, F# ... the language choice in itself could kill the book.

not in the list.

I think I would vote for:
Head First PHP & MySQL
Head First C++

though i think both topics are too big to be put in one book

Head First Linux

I'm more interested in C# and Software Development right now but I think HF Statistics would be a good book to get into for review, esp. if I decided to go back to school for my MBA.

I'm looking forward to the following books:

- Head First Delphi - or Head First Object Pascal
helping readers to understand and make good use of Delphi

- Head First Delphi database programming
helping Delphi programmers to tackle database programming
(Interbase, SQL Server 2005, ... using Delphi)

- Head First Database development
learn how to build a real database
learn how/why to (de)normalize a database
for Access, Interbase/SQL Server 2005, firebird etc

Cheers,
Daniel

I believe that Head First SQL will tackle some of those topics you are asking about for the Database Dev book.

HF SQL should be out real soon!

I'm really interested in learning C#, and so many books I pick up are just unreadable. I'm already working with Head First HTML with CSS, and it's extraordinary how much I've been able to learn - I can sit down and whip up webpages on the fly now.

Secondarily I'd also be extremely interested in a Head First PHP book.
Is this where I'm supposed to write something that demonstrates my intellectual depth, deep emotional capacity or superior knowledge?....Eff that.

It wasn't a joke and I agree there's not much hope, if any, of it happening. I'd go for Scheme only because I think a Head First treatment of SICP would be very cool. Haskell is just too academic, ml maybe too obscure, f# even more unknown ...

Practical Common LISP sold ok ...

I'd like some Head First books on the 'classic' CS topics - Algorithms, Discrete Math, Theory of Computation (watch the Head First bank balance drain away ...)
