Somehow I don't think this kind of book would generate very much revenue, which would in turn preclude it from ever being written. Which is too bad, since I believe that a good understanding of Functional Programming makes for a better software engineer.
If they chose to write a book like this ... which language would they choose? Scheme, ML, Haskell, F# ... the language choice in itself could kill the book.
