I have a November 2007 first edition of Linux Networking Cookbook, and would like to know if there is an errata online that I should check before reporting errors.

Specifically, I just started going through chapter 9 to find out a bit about OpenVPN, and there seem to be a few show stopping errors before getting past the first example.

Eg. third ifconfig on page 269 refers to IP 192.168.3.11 when the text and rest of the example assumes 192.168.3.10, and the next line specifies eth1 when it should be eth0.

Even when these are fixed, there is no entry in the Stinkpad routing table to provide a route to uberpc, though the text claims they should be able to see each other....

I would be surprised if these havnt been reported before, so suspect I just need to find the errata..

Regards,

Hi DigbyT,

You can find all the errata for Linux Networking Cookbook at this URL:
http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596102487/errata/

It looks like there is no confirmed errata so you'll want to click the "Unconfirmed Errata" tab to see all the errata that's been submitted by readers so far.

It does look like there is one errata listed for page 269.

If you find other errata there is a link at the top of the page to submit errata.

Kind regards,
Sarah
