Cron To Check That Domains Are Running

Hi,

I have a dedicated server (lamp & cpanel) under which I host different web domains:
www.domain1.com, www.domain2.com, www.domain3.com, www.domain4.com, ...

I'm upset because sometimes (rarely, though) I discovered (by opening www.domainX.com in the browser) that my domains did not work and I had to restart apache using my root privileges.

Do you have any idea how can I automatically check if such a situation occurs again? A cron job or something like that?

Thanks a lot for your time,
Sorin

Where Is A File With Code For Example 4-5

There are two problems, I think, with the code examples.

First, they don't appear to be complete. For instance, I can't find a file that contains the code for example 4-5 (from pp. 141ff.).

Second, the filenames are not helpful. Filenames like "example4_5.py" would be useful, because they would provide a mapping from the book to the file. But without names like this, there is no way -- short of luck and guesswork -- to find a file or files that correspond to a particular example in the book.

Extremely Disappointed With This Book

I recently purchased this book and I found it extremely annoying to read due to the constant capitalisation of code at the start of sentences. For example:
"Another high level library is urllib2. Urllib2 contains pretty much the same functionality as urllib, but expands on it."
As you're probably aware, 'urllib2' and 'Urllib2' are two *very* different things in python. Finding sentences like the above all the way through the book makes it hard to trust any of the sample code and put me off reading the book. I cannot believe this is a technical book and I cannot recommend it to anyone.

Please Create A Zip File Of Examples/code

hi,
I have bought the book but only started to read it.

1) It looks good but I do not want to download each example code separately then recreate the multilevel directory structure. Please zip up the content of the examples / code so there will be a single download.

2) In the book on page Preface xiv the given url is incorrect. "the URL, http://www.oreilly.com/9780596515829 is either incorrect or no longer available. "

3) I have had much trouble trying to add to the forum because OReilly's web site seem to demand cookies be put into many different web addresses. There is no warning that cookies are required and no listing of what web addresses must be opened up so these needles of data can be shoved into my computer.

Thanks.

This Book And Zenoss

I was listening to a podcast on OSS Network Management Systems, and they were talking about Zenoss and the weakness of the current "Zenoss Book", but one of the presenters mentioned your book as very relevant to deeper understanding and customization of Zenoss (Which uses Python quite a lot on the back end).
The podcast here: http://www.redmonk.com/cote/2008/09/12/it-management-018/

So, is this book actually relevant to Zenoss?
