I was listening to a podcast on OSS Network Management Systems, and they were talking about Zenoss and the weakness of the current "Zenoss Book", but one of the presenters mentioned your book as very relevant to deeper understanding and customization of Zenoss (Which uses Python quite a lot on the back end).
The podcast here: http://www.redmonk.com/cote/2008/09/12/it-management-018/ So, is this book actually relevant to Zenoss? |

It also goes into actually writing your own smaller version of Zenoss yourself to a degree. This will help the reader understand what Zenoss does under the covers. |

I use the samller version too for managing my cheap car insurance business. It is more affordable with lesser features, but still fulfill all my business's needs. |

The administration process becomes more complicated with Linux. We once used it for managing our japanese fashion wholesale website database, but the employees needed some trainings and on-the-job trial and errors before they finally can get accustomed to the system. At the end, I felt it was just wasting time. However, the system is great if you just use personally.

My company used Python few months ago. However, because the configuration and design are not really simple, the manager decided to change it to others
copy bankruptcy schedules . Maybe we need more books like this until Python is successfully employed. This post has been edited by Bankruptcy copies: Sep 17 2009, 06:10 PM |
