Hi everyone,

I actually prefer using Aperture. However, I have the very new and powerful MacBookPro with 4GB of RAM and have managed to cause a Safari meltdown while using Aperture. I was afraid to open Mail or anything else after seeing that Aperture commanded 1.4 GB of my RAM. The catalogue I was working with only had 221 pictures.

I just switched from a PC to a MAC because I hate program and computer crashes. Any suggestions before I jump to Lightroom to avoid this issue?

Thanks

I also have a new Macbookpro and have used aperture for about two years.
I was excited when I got the new MacbookPro as it really helped with speed moving from a powerbook G4.(4 year old model).

I run Aperture, Safari, entourage, and Photoshop Elements at the same time and have never had a problem 4GB of ram so I don't think memory is your problem. Even on my old computer i never had any trouble with crashing
