I use Aperture 1.5 religiously and I love it. I decided to try the Aperture 2 demo because the new RAW decoding seems worth the upgrade cost alone. There are 2 features that were either dropped/changed completely or I just don't know how to change them.
1. The thumbnails in grid view snap when scrolling up and down in Aperture 2. In Aperture 1.5, when you scrolled through your thumbnails in grid view, it was a smooth scrolling action (like on a webpage). But in Aperture 2, the thumbnails jump to the next row when scrolling. It's very distracting and jumpy and literally irritating enough for me to forego the upgrade. Is there a way to change this back to the way it is in 1.5 with the smooth scrolling? 2. I can't find the "Use proportional spacing in grid view" option in Aperture 2 preferences. I have always used this feature in 1.5 and now it appears to be gone. The loss of this one feature alone is ALMOST enough for me to forego the upgrade. I hate having my verticals and horizontals spaced ridiculously far apart. Has this option moved and I just can't find it? If both of these things can be changed, please tell me how. If they can't and it pisses you off too, please submit it to apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/aperture.html like I have (twice). Thanks! |

1. It snaps when using a scrollwheel, but is still smooth when you uses JKL to scroll.
2. Yes, proportional spacing seems to be gone, I'm not too happy either. Ian |
