Any Way To Change Managed To Referenced Files?

In the course of learning to use Aperture, and then in the migration from 1.5 to 2.0, I inadvertently imported some images as Managed, or copied to a new folder, when the workflow I prefer is to use only Referenced images from my original RAW downloads.
Unfortunately, by the time I realized the extent of my error I had many images with meta-data and adjustments - some of which have been used in web pages and books.
Is there any way I can change these managed files, and small number of referenced but to duplicate files, to Reference only the original RAW images without losing all my adjustments and meta-data?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Select the managed files, probably via a search for managed files.
File>Relocate Masters... and point it towards the new location you want the files moved to.

Thanks Ian.
That's what I was thinking — but then I've still got duplicate files.
It would be my next thought that I could then delete these (relocated masters) files, which would then leave Aperture believing the Masters were offline or missing — and then use the Manage Referenced Files… command to re-link to the original RAW images.
It will be extremely tedious, since the files in Aperture are folders and projects that don't necessarily relate directly to a single photo shoot (I keep downloaded RAW images on my hard drive in folders based on date, regardless of subject). But this should do the trick, unless there's some hurdle I haven't considered.
