I am using Aperture 2 on a Mac Pro with CS3. With the earlier Aperture I had no problem opening an image with the external editor. Now, in addition to several other problems, when I click on "Edit with..Photoshop CS3" I get "Edit with Adobe Photoshop CS3 Error--This image cannot be edited with Adobe Photoshop S3 because the image file is unavailable."
My browser shows the full image, the drive with my library is obviously hooked up, I am having lots of problems with getting thumbnails in some of my projects, but not in this one. These are all images in projects that have never caused me grief with CS2. I have just uploaded CS3. If I export the master, I can then open it in photoshop but that is too tedious as it is then outside of aperture. I have set the preferences for the CS3 and the library location and restarted. What am I missing? Or is this yet ANOTHER bug in a miserable program. |

I just tried this with Aperture2, CS3, and using Canon CR2 files that I open as a TIFF. Is your master image stored in the Aperture Library, or is it an externally referenced file? What type of file are you trying to open? What type of editing have you done in Aperture (shouldn't matter, but who knows) How are you exporting - PSD or TIFF? Jon -------------------- Jon Canfield

Jon Thanks Jon, Many of the photos DO open properly, but some just randomly will not open. These include jpegs as well as some NEF files (Nikon D2x raw files) that are stored in the aperture library. I am finding that enough will open properly to disregard the problem, unless you have an idea. I edit most of the photos in CS3. |

Cathy - I'll pass this along to a couple of Aperture experts to see if they have any more info to help out here. Jon -------------------- Jon Canfield
