So, you have in your hands the most awesome and sleek Essential Silverlight 2 Up-to-Date, but are unsure how to open it.

It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it. What you want to do is leverage the cover up but maintain pressure on the pinhead at the same time:

  1. At the top of the book, place your fingers under the plastic cover and cover the pinhead with your thumb
  2. Pull up on the cover with your fingers, but keep your thumb on the pinhead, repeat for each pin

To close the binder, apply slight but steady pressure to the cover around the edges of the pin.
It is securely closed when you hear a click.

I've attached a photo of Nellie (the production editor for the Missing Manuals series) opening the binder.

I think its a Great Idea with the binder and being able to add pages, but its only been about a few weeks and this binder is already ripping where the metal hooks poke through the plastic. Anyone else having this problem aready? I'm about ready to head down to Kinkos to see what they can do.

Craig-
Thank you for letting us know about this. We have been testing the binders in the office and found they held up quite well, but maybe this isn't the most perfect design for an everyday user. Please let me know if you continue to have the problem. I wonder if Kinkos has a good hack? smile.gif

Thank you,
Laurel
