Hi,

I've just started looking at LINQPad and so far I love it! Brilliant app! The only problem is that it doesn't seem to support linking (no pun ...) to SQLCE .SDF files. Is this planned for the future?

Thanks for a great app!

Jammer

Hi Jammer

A few people have requested this, so it's on the list (although fairly low in priority). Can I ask, what do you use SQLCE for?

That's great!!

I'm building a stand alone application solution that builds databases of users files and I needed a database engine to provide the local data store. I did consider SQLExpress as well but the installation requirements for SQLExpress and the potential added complexity pushed me towards using SQLCE. As far as I can tell I'm not going to run into any problems where I would need a feature that SQLCE doesn't support.

Another consideration was that it's a code free solution. Yeah, stored procs would be nice to keep the C# a bit tidier but its not a major problem. This is first time I've used SQLCE/LINQ so not having your app to help is a real bummer frankly.

Also including SQLExpress would have made my app a LOT larger in terms of a download than SQLCE. To be honest I can't get over how much they've managed to squeeze into a 1.8mb app ...

REALLY looking forward to your app supporting SQLCE ...

Regards,

Jammer.
