Hello everyone,

I'm just a hobbyist on a budget (wife, kid, mortgage, etc. wink.gif ) looking to record nature sounds like rustling leaves, babbling brook, ocean surf, frogs, birds, thunderstorms, rain, etc etc etc

My goal: to put the binaurals in my ears, go to the park, sit by the stream/ocean, record, meditate, and get cd quality sound without a lot of hiss or noise from the recorder. Basically, a recorder than can primarily handle quiet sounds.

I am going to purchase the Sound Professional SP-TFB-2 binaural microphones. That much I'm certain.

Which recorder should I get? I'm looking for the recorder capable of handling the quiet nature sounds the best. I won't be recording concerts, operas, speech, etc.

I have 2 scenarios I'm interested in recording:

#1. Ocean City, NJ. I'll be visiting there for a week once a year. Not only is there an active beach, but there is an active boardwalk with amusement rides, arcades.... Sound heaven! Looking forward to recording ocean surf in the early mornings when no one's around as well as all the boardwalk and beach ambience during active moments.

#2. There is an arboretum near me with lots of birds (blue birds, woodpeckers) as well as flowers (bees) and a stream and a pond with lots of frogs. I want to stroll through and record it all.

Appreciate any advice you can provide!

Thanks in advance!
