I am setting up my music room to record classical performances on a grand piano, also piano/voice/strings in various combinations. I intend to buy good quality external mics and I already have a small mixing desk which I will use for balance. I then want to record straight onto a digital machine, download to computer and put end result onto a CD. Can anyone advise me as to the best recorder for the job?

Hello, It is not very easy to tell what is the best in your case. But I believe you should have a recorder with phantom power (48V) for the external mics. This will give you the chance to use the best mics. Take a look at this link: http://www.thomann.de/gb/search_pcform_GF_..._recorders.html They have most of what is in the market- mark phantom power! Best regards Per |
