Can anyone help,I started building a 3800 back in 1979 then laid it up for some 28years i'm now going to try and finish it but i'm having trouble finding some parts, diagrams(hungry mouse ate them while in the loft) some ic's, carbonate capacitors, spring line unit, chokes and a transistor I know it's a bit of a longshot as the bits are now obsolete I wonder if any parts are interchangable with the 4600 it was based upon ,the usual suppliers here in the UK can't help so this is my last hope.

Alan: I checked with a vintage synthesizer expert, but he didn't know either. Try asking over on our Make forum.

Hi there,

I was Googleing just now for ETI5600 and came across your post, I have the original construction manual and a "shead load" of ICs from that era, let me know what you would like to do next.

Regards

Paul

Hi,

I have been attempting to build a Maplin 5600s synth in recent years. it is an ongoing project and
I am always interested in acquiring any original parts / spares for this synth.
I am specifically seeking the 2 LH0042c 's or possibly the LH0042 d's as mentioned previously.
If anybody can shed any light on where these ic's may be obtained or advise on possible replacements i'd be very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Rob.

Hi. I'm new here, but not to the world of synths (analog and digital). (I am moderator for the Crumar yahoo group, and involved with various other electronic music related thingies)

I'm looking for a copy of the Maplin 3800/5600 Construction Manual, preferably a PDF.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
