Can anyone suggest a good starting point in this book for a junior programmer with limited experience that wants to learn ajax? I tried starting right at the beginning but really... page after page after page explaining some awfully simple things like "how to make a table in SQL' and then the book just jumps right into the ajax with pages of code separated with short vague paragraphs that have done nothing to help me out.

NVM, I didn't realize this book was more of a reference book than a learning book. I'll be returning it and looking for something more... descriptive.

Hello,

I would recommend starting with Head First Ajax:
http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596515782/

Our Head First series is a really great (and unique!) way to learn a new subject. It uses techniques that are designed to help your brain learn and remember. You can read about how Head First helps you learn here:
http://headfirstlabs.com/about.php

Cheers,
Sarah

I am new to AJAX,
But I think that Ajax: The Definitive Guide will help me a lot to learn my way through it!
